ChatGPT Ghostwriting

cthulhu is coming

After the last post, I had a thought. ChatGPT isn’t that great at coming up with a story, but what if you gave it an outline?

I wanted a story that had an open ending. Mostly I decided that anything I use AI for I’ll put it up for free (details, including link below).

So I used my CLOSAT game to come up with a writing prompt. Then I used ChatGPT to come up with two characters: The Main Character and a secondary one. As in the image above, it was Jaxon and his sister, Scarlett.

After I used a short story outline for a basic plot. It’s one of many plot outlines and this one is great for open-ended short stories.

Then I had some trouble with ChatGPT. As you can see, my saved chat history is missing. As (almost) predicted, the page crashed, and I wasn’t able to access this conversation. After a couple of days, I could finally access the history and continued the project.

It’s interesting to note, ChatGPT wrote exactly 1500 characters, cutting it off mid-sentence.

I put it in the Google doc anyway, for context.

There’s no dialogue, and it’s certainly better than the last one, but again, it seems so generic. I prefer dialogue, even if there’s a little, because it humanizes the characters. This looks more like an expanded plot. Something some writer or movie maker can expand into a book. Since I used OpenAI’s ChatGPT to make the story, I’m giving it away for free. You don’t even have to give me credit, although I wouldn’t mind a review for Elizabeth: Heritage Journey.

May is Character Month

How quickly time flies. This is why I try not to make promises. Things happen, and I can’t seem to keep up at times. We are still talking about Elizabeth Weinstein of the Elizabeth Series.

9: Elizabeth will not stick around if someone verbally cuts her down. Belittling or name calling is not the same as telling someone that did something wrong or giving some constructive criticism, helping someone to improve. This goes for all relationships.

10: She won’t start a confrontation and when she ends up in one, she tries to talk her way out first. This includes stroking someone’s ego, if necessary.

11: Her mother was abusive, and it took a while before she saw it, even acting as a “flying monkey” when her sister stopped contact. It wasn’t until later she realized what she did.

12: In some ways, Elizabeth believes in fate, but for the most part, she thinks that most life’s events are due to “dumb luck.”

13: She died once already (Heritage Journey). She no longer fears it.

Portal closing as Nahaeda and Zakkon look on.

“So, what should we do now, Nahaeda?” Zakkon asked. “I didn’t expect Josias to fall into the portal with Naehus.”

The giant moaned and looked at his father’s lifeless body. “We mourn our losses first.” He let out another low rumble and then a long, soulful roar.

“I do not blame you if you want to destroy us,” Zakkon whispered. “We never know if this might happen again.”

“Hmm. Natisiens need Inersiens. We destroy you, we will destroy us.” The giant put his hand on Zakkon’s upper back. “While many of us are angry, we know many Inersiens who are good. But we do need assurance.”

“How?” Zakkon continued looking at his feet. “Could we prevent this from happening again?”

“We must come to an agreement,” Nahaeda said. “After I bury my father. After my people recognize me as leader, and after your people recognize you as leader.”

“I’m so young! I don’t have any guidance,” Zakkon cried, staring at the empty horizon where the portal used to be. “My father isn’t here to help.”

“Hmm,” the giant grunted with a stiff nod. “Yes, we are both on our own.”

Finally, HTTPS for everyone!

SSL

SSL came with the packaged deal GoDaddy offered for my website. It took me a year to realize it wasn’t automatically going to install.

Cut me some slack! I was kind of busy trying to finish the Elizabeth series, get this blog set up, redo the whole Zherosha Chronicles website (I’m not even done with that). I just didn’t think to check, I guess, until someone mentioned it on a post on Minds.

So I fixed it. of

I don’t have a certificate for the Elizabeth site, but apparently I can get one through Certbot for free. It would cost me $100 for another certificate for a different domain (which is why Elizabeth is unsecured), but if I can get one through Certbot, it will no longer be the case.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to get it done in a few days.
